NFL Draft Predictions: Shedeur Sanders Next Team
Based on their unknown quarterback situation and their need to draft for the future, I predict the Pittsburgh Steelers (+400) draft Shedeur Sanders.
Two months ago, the prospect of Sanders falling to the 21st overall pick was laughable. But now, it doesn’t seem completely unrealistic given the perception that it’s a weak quarterback draft.
The Steelers and Sanders are a natural fit. Even if Pittsburgh elects to sign Aaron Rodgers this offseason, it’s likely on a one-year deal for the 41-year-old Rodgers.
That would leave Pittsburgh in a difficult position for next season with Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson as the quarterbacks on the roster.
Sanders, who isn’t regarded as highly as the quarterbacks selected in 2024, gives Mike Tomlin a mobile quarterback that Pittsburgh has lacked under the longtime head coach.
While Sanders likely falls somewhere below similar signal callers like Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels, it gives the Steelers a chance to revamp their offense under Arthur Smith.
As a result, it would be the Steelers or nothing for Sanders’ draft prediction.

Sanders didn’t participate in drills at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.
At his Colorado pro day later in the year, he once again elected not to run the 40-yard dash. Instead, he threw just over 70 passes, completing all but five attempts to receivers.
