Super Bowl Coin Toss Trends

There’s a long streak going relating to who wins the coin toss and who ultimately wins the game. In the last eight Super Bowls, the team that has won the coin toss has ultimately lost the game.

The Chiefs will look to snap that streak this year.

The last team to win the coin toss and win the game was the Seahawks against the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Heads has also won the coin toss a lot of late. Heads has been the coin toss winner in back-to-back years as well as four out of the last five Super Bowls. Tails did have a four-year winning streak in the mid-2010s.

Overall, tails has won the toss in approximately 55% of all Super Bowls.
