Raiders running back Marcus Allen is the youngest NFL player to ever win Super Bowl MVP. He was 23 years and 303 days old.

After a fabulous career at USC, Allen was drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders in 1982. He quickly became one of the best running backs in the NFL, particularly known for his effective use at the goal line.

Allen was the primary offensive engine for the Raiders in Super Bowl XVIII. He amassed 209 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns, and the Raiders handily beat the Washington Redskins, 38-9.

Allen is the only player in football history to ever win a Heisman Trophy, national championship and Super Bowl MVP.

The two Super Bowl MVP favorites (as of Thursday, Feb. 9) this year – Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts – are both older than Allen was at the time of his MVP.
