Nikola Jokic is putting up massive numbers for the Denver Nuggets for the second consecutive season.
The star center has the best NBA odds to take home the league’s MVP Award and it’s getting harder to argue that stance with each passing game.

Jokic’s back-to-back win would follow that of Giannis Antetokounmpo who did it in 2018-19 and again in 2019-20.
The Serbian is coming off winning the Western Conference Player of the Week honors, where he averaged 34.8 points, 17.3 rebounds, 8.5 assists, and 2.00 steals per game while shooting 67% from the field.
There are plenty of deserving candidates to take home the prestigious award this season but Jokic is making a case that is simply hard to ignore at this point in the year.
The Nuggets have been without star point guard Jamal Murray for the entirety of this season as he recovers from a torn ACL, along with up and coming star Michael Porter Jr. who has suffered from back injuries.
Without these players and a limited supporting cast in Denver, Jokic has led the Nuggets to a top-six seed in the Western Conference and put Denver in a position to make playoff noise if either Murray or Porter Jr. returns.
The reigning MVP is currently sitting as a big favorite in NBA betting to take home the award again this year with a -275 price at the BetMGM online sportsbook.
Jokic entered the year at +1600 and wasn’t even considered a top-five option to win the award.
His biggest challenger is currently Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid who is coming in at +250. Embiid entered the season at +700 in a tie with Kevin Durant for the fourth-best odds to win the trophy and as recently as a couple of weeks ago it appeared his award to lose.
Embiid still owns the highest ticket percentage at 18.2% and also came in with the highest handle percentage at 29.3%, which leaves him as the biggest liability in terms of the current tickets.

As of right now, unless something drastic happens over the final weekend of the NBA regular season, Jokic should take home his second MVP in a row.
