The PGA Tour will continue its West Coast swing this week with the Farmers Insurance Open from Torrey Pines in San Diego, California.
Regarding golf betting, it’s another unique week as the tournament will be played Wednesday-Saturday (Jan. 25-28), so the PGA Tour isn’t going head-to-head with the AFC and NFC Championship games on Sunday.
There are two courses at Torrey Pines — the North and the South Courses. Players will alternate between the North and South courses for the first two rounds. The final two rounds will be on the South Course.
The South Course hosted the 2021 U.S. Open.
Luke List defeated Will Zalatoris in a playoff in last year’s event.
Farmers Insurance Open Field
It is not a designated event, but several top players worldwide will be playing this week.
The 156-player field is headlined by Jon Rahm, who comes off two wins in his previous two starts (The American Express and the Sentry Tournament of Champions). He also won the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines and the 2017 edition of this event.
Other big names in the field are Justin Thomas, Will Zalatoris, Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa.
Five of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings are teeing it up.
