  • Jon Rahm (+1200) has the best golf odds to win the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open.
  • The 2022 Genesis Scottish Open will be played at The Renaissance Club.

The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland, is the place to be this week in the golf world for the Genesis Scottish Open.

It’s a loaded field with 17 of the world’s top 20 players playing in preparation for next week’s British Open. Jon Rahm (+1200) has the best golf odds going into the tournament and is closely followed by Justin Thomas (+1400) and Scottie Scheffler (+1400).

This is the best field the tournament has ever had, with it being a co-sanctioned PGA Tour event as part of the PGA Tour and DP World Tour strategic alliance.

It is a unique week for golf betting, as the 160-player field includes 75 players from the PGA Tour and 75 from the DP World Tour. The majority of the players from the PGA Tour do not have much course history.

With that in mind, when it comes to my best bets for the week, I will prioritize players with some experience at the links-style course. The weather has not been an issue in the previous three years where it has played host to the event, with the average score being 17-under.

Here are three predictions for the Genesis Scottish Open.

Tommy Fleetwood Top-10 Finish +400

Fleetwood hasn’t had much success the last few years, but he’s trending in the right direction, and The Renaissance Club has been kind to him.

He lost in a playoff in 2020 to Aaron Rei, and it just seems like Fleetwood is a different player when he’s playing in Europe versus the United States.

The 31-year-old is in good form; he’s made the cut in nine of his last 10 individual stroke play events, including a T-5 finish at the PGA Championship.

Victor Perez Top-20 Finish +275

Perez is a quality player on the DP World Tour, and this presents solid value.

He’s 3-for-3 in cuts made at The Renaissance Club, including a T-14 in 2020. Perez also enters the event playing extremely well; he’s posted a win and a T-3 in his last four starts.

The 29-year-old Frenchman is relatively unknown to regular PGA Tour bettors, which is likely why this price is so good.

Padraig Harrington Top-20 Finish +600

The 50-year-old has been playing a lot of golf lately, including winning the U.S. Senior Open.

Harrington looks pretty relaxed, and although he’s not as long as players half his age, he can still get it out there, which allows him to contend still.

He’s won multiple times on links courses, and given his loose mentality the past few weeks, I like him to keep his momentum going with another solid week.
