For the first time since 1999, there will be a mixed-team co-sanctioned event between the LPGA and PGA Tour.
This is the Grant Thornton Invitational from Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida, Dec. 8-10.
Each of the three rounds will have a different format.
The first round will be a scramble and the second round will be alternate shot. The third round will feature a new format to team play. In the “modified four-ball,” both players will tee off and then they will switch balls for their second shots and play that ball until holed. The lower score of the partners will count as the team score.

There are 16 pairs, which include some of the best players on the PGA and LPGA Tours.
Some players include Ludvig Åberg, Justin Rose, Ricker Fowler and Jason Day, plus some of the LPGA’s best like Lilia Vu, Celine Boutier, Rose Zhang, Nelly Korda and Lexi Thompson.
