  • The Travelers Championship is June 22-25.
  • TPC River Highlands is a shorter course, so distance isn’t necessary.
  • Prop bets are a good alternative to outright winner bets.

Prop bets are a nice alternative to outright winners in golf betting each week. For example, instead of selecting a player to win, picking him to finish in the top 10 might have better value.

Scottie Scheffler has +600 odds to win the Travelers Championship this week, so once again, he is a massive favorite.

At just over 6,800 yards, TPC River Highlands is one of the shorter courses on the PGA Tour. Distance isn’t necessary to play well; instead, accuracy will be rewarded the most.

If players keep the ball in play, they will have plenty of birdie opportunities.

Below are my best prop bets for the Travelers Championship.

Travelers Championship 2023: Best Prop Bets

Patrick Cantlay Top-5 Finish +240

Cantlay has always been a big fan of TPC River Highlands ever since shooting 60 as an amateur back in 2011. Since 2018, he’s made the cut in all five of his appearances and has a scoring average of 67.55.

He finished the week strong at the U.S. Open and should ride that momentum into this event.

Collin Morikawa Top-20 Finish +100

With as good of a ball striker as Morikawa is, it’s very surprising to see him at plus money just to finish inside the top 20. He did have some questions about his back going into the U.S. Open, but he appeared more than fine.

In 18 events this season, Morikawa has seven top-25 finishes.

Michael Thorbjornsen Top-20 Finish +700

Thorbjornsen has struggled the past two weeks on the pro circuit, but he will have plenty of good vibes this week. He finished in fourth place here a year ago, and being from Massachusetts, he will have plenty of support from the crowd.

This would seem to be a course that fits his eye and presents tremendous value given his price.
