After a disappointing road draw against Brentford, Man City continue their travels with a Sunday fixture at Ipswich Town.
City saw their 2-0 advantage in the second half erased by Brentford, who stormed back to capture a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. That result leaves City sixth in the league table.
The good news for City? They play an Ipswich team they beat 4-1 in the reverse fixture. This season, City is 3-0 SU against promoted teams.

Based on City’s offensive strength with Kevin De Bruyne and Ipswich’s weak defensive record, my Ipswich Town vs. Man City prediction is Man City Over 2.5 Goals (+105).
Assuming De Bruyne starts for City, there’s a strong likelihood they reach two goals. The bigger question is whether they can notch a third against Ipswich.
This season, De Bruyne has started 10 games for manager Pep Guardiola. City have scored twice in all but one of those 10 matches, clearing 2.5 goals in four.
But one of those successes came in the reverse fixture against the Tractor Boys.
In that match, City scored four goals off 3.34 xG and 3.47 post-shot xG, per fotmob.com. They also amassed five big scoring chances.
It’s also a nightmare spot for Ipswich, which played their midweek match on Thursday.
Although they’ll play a second straight game at home, it will come against a City team with two extra days of rest over Kieran McKenna’s side.
Recently, Ipswich has run very lucky as a home underdog defensively.
McKenna’s side conceded seven times in the four previous home matches to Thursday’s meeting. However, that record comes against 9.1 expected goals.
That luck has transpired over the entire season as well.
