- Manchester City is owned by City Football Group (CFG).
- The majority shares are owned by Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
- Sheikh Mansour has a net worth of around $21 billion.
Although Manchester City has been around since 1880, when it was originally founded as St. Marks, its biggest success has undoubtedly come in the last decade. It’s no coincidence the club’s fortunes changed in the 2008 takeover by the City Football Group (a holding company for the Abu Dhabi United Group).
Since the takeover, Manchester City has consistently been the favorite in the Premier League betting odds and other soccer odds for winning almost every match they play.
Who Owns Manchester City?
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is a member of Abu Dhabi’s royal family and the majority shareholder of CFG, the company that owns Premier League club Manchester City.
The group purchased Manchester City in 2008 after a tumultuous period of ownership under Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, which nearly led to a complete financial breakdown of the club.

The Sheiks also became Vice-Chairman of Mubadala Investment Company, one of the world’s largest state-owned investment funds, in 2017.
What has Manchester City Won Under Shiekh Mansour?
