- Israel Adesanya was the former undisputed UFC Middleweight Champion.
- Adesanya lost to Sean Strickland in the main event of UFC 293 in September 2023 via unanimous decision.
- Adesanya has recently revealed that he's dealing with an injury and will return to training camp later this year.
Israel Adesanya suffered a gigantic upset from Sean Strickland in the main event of UFC 293, which went down inside the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, last Sept. 9, 2023. Adesanya failed to find a hole in Strickland’s tight defense and yielded to the challenger’s non-stop forward pressure throughout the fight. He also absorbed the most damage as “Tarzan” landed more significant strikes.
Despite this latest setback, “The Last Stylebender” remains one of UFC’s biggest stars and a perpetual favorite in online sports betting via the UFC odds. But will the Nigerian-New Zealander get an outright rematch against Strickland for his next fight?
