  • Rafael Fiziev is an up-and-coming lightweight star.
  • Fiziev holds an MMA record of 12 wins and three losses.
  • Fiziev is coming off a defeat against Mateusz Gamrot.

Azerbaijan’s Rafael Fiziev absorbed a second-round TKO loss at the hands of Mateusz Gamrot in their UFC Fight Night main event fight inside the APEX Center last Sept. 23, 2023. “Ataman” was the slight betting favorite in UFC odds going into the fight but suffered a knee injury during the bout, which caused the defeat to the “Gamer.”

Despite the defeat, Fiziev is still one of the most exciting and entertaining fighters in the stacked lightweight division because of his elite-level Muay Thai striking that can knock out opponents with one strike. But when will he see him back inside the Octagon?

When Is Rafael Fiziev’s Next Fight?

Rafael Fiziev is expected to be out of action for an extended period due to his injury during the Gamrot fight. Those types of knee injuries usually take at least eight months to recover from. Once the 30-year-old returns, he is expected to fight a ranked contender because he is still among the top 15 contenders in the 155-pound division.
