As a standalone event, ATP Atlanta is not a particularly noteworthy draw. It’s only a 250-level event, which means fewer tour points, smaller prize purses, and fewer top-end tennis players.
In spite of all that, the Atlanta Open has become an increasingly popular event in recent years because it marks the beginning of the midsummer swing back toward North American hardcourt.
