  • Slovan Bratislava is predicted to be a +3.5-goal underdog against Man City.
  • Manchester City have drawn three of their last four matches in all competitions.
  • I predict Manchester City will cover the spread on Tuesday in Slovakia.

Seeking their first Champions League win this season, Manchester City head to Slovakia to face Slovan Bratislava.ย

Cityโ€™s current form is subpar for their standards. Theyโ€™ve drawn three of their last four, but those results came against Inter Milan, Arsenal and Newcastle United.ย

As for Slovan, they fell 5-1 in their opening Champions League match against Celtic but have won three straight in their domestic competition since that match.ย

Hereโ€™s a look at the Champions League odds and my Slovan Bratislava vs. Man City prediction.ย

Slovan Bratislava vs. Man City Betting Odds

  • Slovan Bratislava Moneyline: +3300
  • Man City Moneyline: -2000
  • Draw Moneyline: +1600
  • Over/Under: 4.5 Goals (+130/-185)
  • Both Teams to Score: Yes (+160), No (-225)

Slovan Bratislava vs. Man City Prediction: Man City Spread

My prediction for Slovan Bratislava vs. Man City is the Manchester City Spread (-3.5, +115).ย

This is the ultimate get-right spot for Pep Guardiolaโ€™s team, even away from home.ย

Slovan posted a -2.5 non-penalty expected goal differential against Celtic. For context, Scotland is the 17th-ranked domestic league by UEFA coefficients.ย

Now they get City, a team that plays in the hardest of Europeโ€™s domestic leagues and has previously dominated bad teams.ย

Last season, City rolled out a full-strength squad three times against a team 15th or worse in UEFA coefficients.ย

They only covered this number once, but they dominated the underlying metrics. In those three games, City posted a +3.1 non-penalty xGDiff per 90 minutes.ย

In terms of UEFA coefficients, all three of those matches came against teams that play in harder domestic leagues than Slovan.ย

Against Red Star Belgrade, the weaker of those two opponents, City recorded a +3.4 expected goal differential and a +3.7 post-shot xGDiff.ย

This is by far the easiest opponent City will have faced in the Champions League since appointing Pep Guardiola.ย

Accordingly, Iโ€™ll pay to see Slovan stay within this number against one of the worldโ€™s best teams.ย
