The Washington Commanders’ defensive end is still on his rookie contract after being drafted second overall in 2020, one spot behind Joe Burrow, who’s nearing a mega extension.
The defensive standout signed a four-year, $34,563,594 deal with the team, including a $22,697,160 signing bonus, with $34,563,594 guaranteed and an average salary of $8,640,899.
Young’s deal is fully guaranteed, and – after a potential fifth-year option season in 2024 – he will become an unrestricted free agent in 2025.

Young has shown nothing but promise when healthy for Washington. Despite the knee injury that the defensive star suffered, the former Buckeye remains in line for a nice payday come extension time.
