College Football Predictions & Best Bets for Week 10

Week 10 of the 2023 college football season should yield some enormous matchups and hugely impactful results.

I might even like a few bets in those showdowns, in an unusual turnabout from my tendency to dig through the trash and bet more obscure games with favorable college football odds.

Today – as I do every Wednesday throughout the college football regular season – I’ve put together a handful of my favorite college football betting predictions for you to consider this weekend.

After I’ve handicapped the whole board each week, I will publish my best plays from the wider canon of college football odds. 

I’ll provide a short explanation of why I like each college football bet, so you don’t have to go on faith alone.

Missouri at Georgia Spread Prediction

I have been a Georgia doubter throughout most of the season – the Bulldogs are 2-6 against the number, giving them one of the worst college football ATS records in all of FBS – so regular readers probably won’t be surprised to see that I’m on Missouri here.

Georgia has zero wins against teams currently in the AP Top 25. The stiffest challenges this season have come against Auburn, Kentucky, and Florida – forgettable, mid-pack teams. 

Missouri is not that. The Tigers, who rank 23rd in EPA/play, will present the biggest offensive challenge Georgia has faced all year. So far, the only top-50 offense Georgia has faced by that metric is UAB (43rd). 

With Brock Bowers sidelined, Georgia’s offense may struggle to keep pace with Mizzou. That makes this number, which is north of two touchdowns, a lucrative position to hold. I’m sprinkling in some moneyline too, as I think there’s a real chance that Missouri wins this game. 

Best Bet: Missouri +15.5; Missouri +525

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State Spread Prediction

The Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in the country that few outside the Big 12 are actually paying attention to. That’s likely to change this week, as Oklahoma State has crept into the bottom portion of some polls. 

Even still, OSU is catching six points as a home dog in the final conference edition of the Bedlam rivalry. And with Oklahoma showing real vulnerability to UCF and Kansas over the last two weeks, I’m perfectly willing to go against the Sooners in this spot, given that they’re forced to lay advantage on the road. 

This is another spot where I think the moneyline is worth a look, too.

Best Bet: Oklahoma State +6; Oklahoma State +180

Kansas at Iowa State Spread Prediction

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve gotten to go back to the well on this, but regular readers know that one of my favorite trends in online sports betting is the unranked favorite against the ranked underdog. This has already cashed two bets for the column this season.

This week, Kansas is back in the polls after the aforementioned victory over Oklahoma, yet it’s a road dog to unranked Iowa State. 

You can call it a letdown spot if you like, but Iowa State is tied for first place in the Big 12. They can all but knock Kansas out of championship position with a win over the Jayhawks. 

In any case, the context is largely irrelevant to my decision-making process. I see an unranked favorite, I bet an unranked favorite.

Best Bet: Iowa State -2.5

UCLA at Arizona Spread Prediction

I mentioned that Oklahoma State is one of the hottest teams in college football, and here’s another one. After a forgettable opening four weeks, Arizona posted October wins over Oregon State and Washington State. It also lost to USC in triple-overtime in Los Angeles and played Washington pretty tight. 

Now, the Wildcats are short home dogs against No. 19 UCLA, and I am expecting another big upset win. The fact that this has been bumped up to a full +3 after opening near +1.5 makes it even better. 

Best Bet: Arizona +3

Washington at USC Total Prediction

Washington’s offense has looked like it’s stuck in low gear since beating Oregon. Fortunately, it has the USC defense coming up next, which should prove an effective poultice for whatever the issues are.

The Huskies should be able to name their score here. This is one of those rare games where I really can’t imagine a realistic number where I wouldn’t bet the over.

Best Bet: Washington/USC Over 76.5

Army at Air Force Total Prediction

Here’s another no-brainer trend play. Contests between service academies have all kinds of different trends that suggest a near-automatic under. 

In this particular matchup, the under between Army and Air Force is 9-0 since Jeff Monken took the reins at West Point. 

Best Bet: Army/Air Force Under 31.5

Best College Football Parlay This Week

One college football parlay to consider for Week 10 is:

• Duke -500
• Utah -450
• Louisville -375
