  • Ohio State vs. Oregon kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock.
  • Oregon (1-4 ATS) has not met market expectations this season.

College GameDay is in attendance this week for the biggest game of the week and one of the biggest games of the entire 2024 regular season.

Oregon welcomes new conference foe Ohio State to Eugene for a mid-October battle that will go a long way to deciding the Big Ten title and the College Football Playoff picture

Ohio State vs. Oregon Preview

The key to forecasting this game is deciding what you think Oregon is.

Historically, Oregon is a good team that’s very difficult to beat at Autzen. The Ducks are 10-4 outright and ATS in their last 14 conference games against top 10 opponents. They also beat Ohio State in 2021 as a 14-point dog.

But that’s all history. This year, Oregon has looked a little clunkier on offense. It’s failed to win by margin in most of its games, with the lone exception being the rivalry game against Oregon State where the Beavers got blown out.

The opportunity to bet Oregon football odds as an underdog may flip how some bettors feel this week. Personally, I remain skeptical that Dillon Gabriel and Oregon are as good as last year’s Bo Nix team. I think the market is consistently overrating the Ducks in both the week-to-week spread markets and college football futures markets.

Ohio State vs. Oregon Prediction

I am predicting a low-scoring Ohio State win on Saturday night in Eugene.

The Buckeyes aren’t perfect and don’t quite look the part of a favorite – which they currently are in the college football national championship odds market. But they still have a top roster in the sport, and I think that talent will win out.

I think that’s particularly true on defense. Oregon has looked out of sync on offense against the likes of Idaho, Michigan State, and UCLA, among others. The matchup against Ohio State is a whole new level of competition for this year’s team.

From an online sports betting perspective, I’m attacking this game by playing a parlay of Ohio State -155 and Under 52.5. That yields a +195 ticket.

Ohio State vs. Oregon Prediction: Ohio State -155/Under 52.5
