The Atlanta Braves’ odds to win the World Series in 2023 are +500, as of May 22, tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place and just ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays (+650).
Prior to Opening Day, the online sportsbook had the Braves at +800 to win the World Series, just behind the Dodgers (+500) and Astros (+700). As they pushed ahead in the NL East, the Braves’ odds changed accordingly to see them lead MLB as favorites to win.
Atlanta Braves World Series History
The Braves have won four World Series titles in their franchise’s history — 1914, 1957, 1995, and 2021.
Then based in Boston, the Braves won their first World Series title in 1914, beating the Philadelphia Athletics in four games. This was particularly impressive because the Braves had abandoned their 43-year-old home field South End Grounds in August 1914, opting to rent Fenway Park from the Boston Red Sox for the remainder of the season.
As a result, the Braves won the 1914 World Series without a home-field advantage, as their home games had to be played at the rented Fenway Park.
The 1957 World Series was won when the Braves were based in Milwaukee (1953-1965). They won the title against the New York Yankees in seven games, becoming the only team besides the Yankees, Brooklyn Dodgers, or New York Giants to win a World Series title in the 1950s.
The Braves have won two World Series titles since their relocation to Atlanta in 1966. In 1995, they beat the Cleveland Indians in six games, making them the first team in MLB history to win at least one crown in three different cities. The Braves won the World Series again in 2021, beating the Houston Astros in six games, despite the Astros having posted a superior regular-season record to secure home-field advantage.
