- My Orioles vs. Blue Jays prediction is to back Jackson Holliday to score a run.
As part of MLBโs 14-game schedule on Opening Day, the Toronto Blue Jays will host the Baltimore Orioles at 3:07 p.m. ET on Thursday at the Rogers Centre.
The Baltimore Orioles aim for a deep playoff run in 2025 following back-to-back trips to the postseason without a victory. The Toronto Blue Jays can relate after losing in the American League wild-card round in 2022 and 2023 before finishing fifth in the division last year.
Hereโs a look at the latest MLB odds and my Orioles vs. Blue Jays prediction ahead of Opening Day.
Orioles vs. Blue Jays Odds: Thursday, March 27
- Orioles moneyline: -120
- Blue Jays moneyline: +100
- Game total: 8.5
Orioles vs. Blue Jays Opening Day Starting Pitchers
Zach Eflin will get the start for the Orioles on Opening Day. This title would have likely gone to Grayson Rodriguez, but heโs been shut down after a cortisone shot in his elbow.
Josรฉ Berrรญos will get his third Opening Day start in the past four years for the Blue Jays.

Orioles vs. Blue Jays Prediction for Opening Day
Based on the latest MLB betting lines, I like Jackson Holliday’s odds to score a run (+145) as my favorite Orioles vs. Blue Jays prediction for Opening Day.
Holliday had an underwhelming rookie season after being considered the best prospect in baseball. He looked lost in the majors, striking out too much from the No. 9 spot in the lineup.
But I’m betting that Holliday will remind everyone of his pedigree during his sophomore season. Holliday hit .333 with four RBIs and five stolen bases during the spring.
There is also a chance he’s the team’s leadoff batter to start the season while Gunnar Henderson is sidelined. Holliday batted leadoff in Tuesday’s final spring training contest.
I expect Holliday’s props to be valuable this spring, but the +145 odds on him to score a run is my favorite angle in a game that should feature plenty of offense. These two teams scored 126 total runs in 13 head-to-head meetings last year, averaging 9.69 per game.
The Orioles are an obvious over team this year due to the combination of a potent lineup and underwhelming rotation. Baltimoreโs offense ranked third in all of baseball last year with a wRC+ of 115, trailing the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees.
The Blue Jays also appear due for some positive regression in what could be Vladimir Guerrero Jr.โs final season in the lineup. They scored 671 runs last year after averaging 789 across the three previous campaigns.
In a game that should have plenty of offense, I’ll back Baltimore’s promising second-year player to score at least one run.
Orioles vs. Blue Jays Prediction: Jackson Holliday Over 0.5 Runs (+145)
