As of May 27, the Tampa Bay Rays’ odds to win the World Series in 2023 are +650, third in MLB behind the Atlanta Braves (+500) and Los Angeles Dodgers (+500).

Prior to Opening Day, the online sportsbook had the Rays at +2200 to win the World Series. Their odds dropped dramatically once the 2023 season got underway, with Tampa Bay winning 13 consecutive games to tie the MLB record for longest winning streak to start a season.

Tampa Bay Rays World Series History

The Rays are one of six active teams in Major League Baseball to have never won a World Series title. The others are the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners, Colorado Rockies, and San Diego Padres.

Founded in 1998 as the Devil Rays before shortening to simply the Rays in 2008, Tampa Bay doesn’t have the extensive history that many other clubs have. The Rays have won the American League pennant to compete in the World Series twice — in 2008 and 2020 — but were defeated both times.
