These days, itโ€™s a good time to be a French basketball player.

After Victor Wembanyama was drafted by the Spurs with the No. 1 overall pick in 2023, French basketball has seen a major uptick in the degree of international respect it receives.ย 

Some of that adoration was seemingly affirmed at the top of the 2024 NBA Draft when the Hawks selected Zaccharie Risacher with the No. 1 pick.

Unsurprisingly, the French Olympic team is perceived as one of the top challengers to American supremacy.ย
