  • The Detroit Pistons went an NBA-worst 14-68 last year.
  • Detroitโ€™s win total is 25.5 in 2024-25.

After posting the worst record in the NBA last season, the Detroit Pistons expect to be more competitive during the 2024-25 campaign.

NBA futures odds are available at the online sportsbook, including Detroit Pistons odds for NBA champion, division winner, and player awards.

Pistons Futures Odds

Win Total: 25.5
Central Division: +30000
Eastern Conference: +5000
NBA Championship: +100000

The Pistons are NBA odds long shots after finishing with just 14 wins last year.

Their championship price of +100000 is tied for the longest in the league. Along with the four other teams, their odds to win the East are also the longest.

Detroitโ€™s win total is 25.5, its lowest preseason over/under since having a mark of 21.5 entering 2011-12. The Pistons won 25 games that year.

Pistons Offseason Moves

The Pistons had money to spend this offseason, adding several veterans to help improve their roster.

Itโ€™s easy to scoff at some of Detroit’s moves this year.

Tobias Harris signed a two-year, $52 million deal to leave the Philadelphia 76ers. Malik Beasley landed a one-year, $6 million contract. The Pistons added Tim Hardaway Jr. in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks that cost them Quentin Grimes.

But all those moves gave the Pistons some veteran leadership and shooting for a team that desperately needed both.

Detroit also gave point guard Cade Cunningham a five-year, $224 million extension to establish him as its franchise player.

Pistons 2024 Betting Prediction

Prediction: Cade Cunningham to Win Most Improved Player (+4000)

The Pistons are going to improve this year.

They hired J.B. Bickerstaff as their head coach, and he brings an impressive resume after spending the past five seasons leading the Cleveland Cavaliers. Fred Vinson, who has a sterling reputation for improving shooting, joins the team as an assistant.

But Iโ€™m uncomfortable betting on an 12-win improvement for the Pistons.

If Detroit does make a leap, Cunningham will be a big reason for that. He has averaged 20 points and 6.5 assists through three seasons, but I could see both marks improving this season and him potentially earning his first All-Star nod.

The Most Improved Player odds race is often unpredictable, but Cunningham offers excellent value at 40/1.
