  • Hereโ€™s a list of the top five NBA players with the most triple-doubles in the playoffs.
  • Magic Johnson leads the list with 30 triple-doubles.
  • Three players are still actively playing today in the league.

One of the most tracked statistical categories in todayโ€™s modern NBA is the triple-double, as players aim for it in almost every game. This stat line not only identifies the capability of a player to be a do-it-all athlete on both ends of the floor, but it also increases his teamโ€™s NBA odds of winning games.

This is especially true during the playoffs as superstars are rising to the occasion and racking up incredible numbers to further strengthen their teamโ€™s chances of lifting the Larry Oโ€™Brien Trophy. But who among the long list of NBA superstars has achieved the most triple-doubles in the postseason?

Magic Johnson – 30 Triple-Doubles

Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson is leading the list, and he accumulated 30 triple-doubles in his career in the playoffs. He attained this number in just 190 games over 13 playoff appearances and playing an average of 39.7 minutes. Because of these phenomenal numbers, Johnson won five NBA titles and three NBA Finals MVPs with the Lakers.

LeBron James – 28 Triple-Doubles

In 16 postseason runs, LeBron James has racked up 28 triple-doubles, playing with the Cavaliers, Heat, and Lakers. This feat has helped him win four NBA titles and be one of four players in the leagueโ€™s history to win a championship with three different teams. It is a testament to King Jamesโ€™ impact that instantly translates to winning.

Nikola Jokic – 14 Triple-Doubles

Sitting number three on the list is Denver Nuggets superstar and former back-to-back MVP Nikola Jokic. Among the list, he has the fewest playoff games played with 65. He has the opportunity to further add to his tally as he is only in his eighth season in the league and has more opportunity to compete in the playoffs with the incredible Nuggets team.

Russell Westbrook – 12 Triple-Doubles

The NBAโ€™s all-time triple-double leader Russell Westbrook joins the list at the No. 4 spot with 12 triple-doubles in the playoffs. Among the players in this list, he has the fewest games at 111, as heโ€™s appeared in 11 postseasons, playing for the Thunder, Rockets, and Wizards. Unfortunately for Brodie, he has yet to win an NBA title.

Jason Kidd – 11 Triple-Doubles

Completing the list of overall leaders in playoff triple-doubles is Jason Kidd, who produced 11 in 17 playoff runs. In those years, he suited up for the Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets), Dallas Mavericks, and New York Knicks averaging 12.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and eight assists per game. Kidd also won an NBA title with the Mavs in 2011.
