While the NCAA Tournament gets most of the attention, there are currently Division I menโs college basketball postseason tournaments that take place in March:
- Division I NCAA Tournament
- National Invitation Tournament (NIT)
- College Basketball Invitational (CBI)
Teams that are left out of the NCAA Tournament generally prefer to play in the NIT. The NIT has four regions with eight teams apiece.ย
The CBI is a 16-team tournament that mostly highlights mid-major teams that were not invited to participate in either of the first two tournaments.ย
