Approximately 14.7 million people watched UConn’s win over San Diego State in the national championship on Monday, April 3. It was the lowest-rated title game on record, failing to surpass the 16 million viewers for Villanova-Michigan in 2018.

Despite the record-low rating (7.8), it was still a bigger audience than any game in the 2022 NBA Finals. None of the six games between the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors exceeded 14 million viewers.

UConn-San Diego State on CBS was down 14% in viewership from last year’s championship on TBS, TNT, and truTV. Kansas’ win over North Carolina had 17.05 million viewers and a rating of 9.1.

The 2024 national championship is scheduled for Monday, April 8, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
