Once football season is over and March Madness arrives, college basketball odds take over the US online sports betting market. For a couple of weeks in March, brackets and betting are practically a national pastime.

In recent years, the NCAA women’s tournament has become increasingly popular, too. That’s partially due to increased depth in the sport, as well as cultural icons like Caitlin Clark.

For those interested in the handicapping side of things, the BetMGM online sportsbook offers women’s futures odds in addition to men’s college basketball national championship odds

Just head to the American basketball page and check the side tab that reads College – Women

Women’s NCAA Tournament Prediction: Who Will Win the Women’s Tournament In 2025?

Based on the current futures market, the South Carolina Gamecocks have an implied 40% chance to win the 2025 national championship.

Women’s College Basketball National Championship: Odds & Analysis

UConn was once the dominant power in women’s college basketball, winning six total championships from 2009-16. That includes four straight from 2013-16.

Geno Auriemma’s UConn program remains powerful in college basketball, but there’s much more competition at the top than there was 10 years ago. Five different programs have won the national championship since 2018: South Carolina, LSU, Stanford, Baylor, and Notre Dame.

South Carolina is the best program of the lot right now, which is why the Gamecocks won it last year and are favored to win again in 2025. Dawn Staley has won three championships since 2017 and recruits great players.

Leading scorer Kamilla Cardoso (14.4 ppg) is gone, but South Carolina does retain its other six players from last season who averaged at least eight points per game.

Southern Cal has sophomore guard JuJu Watkins, who is expected to be one of the next great collegiate players of this generation. She averaged 27 points per game last year as a freshman.

Last year, USC earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and made the Elite Eight this past season before losing to UConn.

One future that bettors may have an eye on is NC State, which brings back a trio of guards (Aziaha James, Saniya Rivers, and Madison Hayes) from a Final Four team who all averaged at least 10 points per game last year.

BetMGM’s current college basketball odds have NC State priced at +3000 to win the national championship, but that number is likely to move down in the coming months.
