n the playoffs, they defeated the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional round with a convincing 38-6 win. Unfortunately, they got dominated in the Conference Championship, losing 41-10 to the eventual Super Bowl-winning Washington Redskins.
1983 Divisional Round vs. 49ers
Eight years prior, Detroit won their second division of the Super Bowl era and received a bye into the Divisional Round.
This time they lost to a game-winning drive by none other than Joe Montana’s San Francisco 49ers. The final score at the Pontiac Silverdome was 24-23.
1970 Divisional Round vs. Cowboys
The franchise’s first division title in the Super Bowl era came in 1970, giving them a bye past the first round.
Detroit went on to lose in the Divisional Round to the Dallas Cowboys by a score of 5-0. This game is the lowest-scoring playoff game in NFL history.
