  • The Houston Texans acquired Stefon Diggs and quickly became a Super Bowl favorite.
  • Trade affected both Houston and Buffalo’s win total as well as divisional odds.
  • All told, trade impacted six different futures markets.

On Wednesday morning, the Houston Texans acquired wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills.

Based on the movement, multiple different futures markets at the BetMGM online sportsbook received an adjustment, most notably regarding Houston.

Here’s a look at all the changes to the NFL betting lines based on the transaction.

Super Bowl LIX Futures Odds

Three teams received an impact to their Super Bowl odds after the trade.

The first is obvious: Houston moved from +1700 to +1600 to win next year’s NFL championship after acquiring Diggs.

Even though the Bills lost their top wide receiver, they held steady at +1400 to win Super Bowl LIX.

However, both the Dolphins and Jets received a boost to their outright odds. Miami moved from +2600 to +2300, while New York transitioned from +2900 to +2600.

AFC Championship Futures Odds

Only two teams received adjustments in this market.

Houston moved from +850 to +750 to win the AFC Championship next year, while the Bills dropped a dollar from +650 to +750.

AFC South & AFC East Divisional Odds

Houston made a massive leap in their odds to win the AFC South next season.

Prior to the trade, C.J. Stroud and company were +150 to win the AFC South for the second season in a row.

Now, they’re +110 to win the division. Accordingly, the Jaguars dropped from +240 to +260, while the Colts moved from +300 to +325.

Regarding the AFC East, Buffalo dropped from +130 to +150 to win the division again. Miami held steady at +190 to win the division, while the Jets moved from +280 to +250.

Season-Long Win Totals

The Bills and Texans’ respective win totals stayed at the current number but with new prices to the over.

Buffalo’s win total is set at 10.5 wins, but the over moved from -120 to +100 following the trade.

Houston’s win total remained at 9.5. However, the odds for over 9.5 wins jumped from -110 to -145.
