Three-time Super Bowl champion and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made his first career start against the Denver Broncos during Week 17 (Dec. 31) of the 2017 regular season.

After already clinching a playoff spot, the Chiefs elected to rest Alex Smith, but still won the game, 27-24, on the road in Denver behind Mahomesโ€™ 284 yards through the air.ย

This passing total was the second-most by a rookie quarterback in a game in team history.
