  • Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Sepp Straka are some of the best wind players.
  • The best ball-strikers tend to be the best wind players.

More often than not, weather conditions on the PGA Tour are great, but that isn’t always the case.

Over the course of the year, there can be rounds played in tough conditions, one of them being wind.

This can affect all facets of the game, from ball-striking all the way to putting. So, who are the best wind players on the PGA Tour?

Thanks to Fantasy National (all 2025 rounds) and the “wind” search function, there are answers. These players are good to target when golf betting on a tournament with windy conditions.

Best Wind Players on the PGA Tour

Rory McIlroy

In 2025, McIlroy ranked No. 1 in Strokes Gained: Total in moderate wind conditions and was No. 7 in Strokes Gained: Total in extreme wind conditions. He is also No. 1 when the two features are combined.

McIlroy had a monster 2025 season, winning three times on the PGA Tour, including the Masters to complete the career grand slam.

Scottie Scheffler

This comes as no surprise, given he’s the best player on the planet.

Scheffler ranks No. 2 in Strokes Gained: Total when combining moderate and extreme wind conditions.

Sepp Straka

Straka ranks No. 3 in Strokes Gained: Total when combining moderate and extreme wind conditions. He’s also tied for first in just moderate wind conditions.

Straka won twice in 2025 and added four other top-10 finishes.

Hideki Matsuyama

Matsuyama came in No. 4 in extreme windy conditions for Strokes Gained: Total and No. 25 for moderate wind conditions.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as Matsuyama is one of the best ball-strikers on the PGA Tour.

Honorable Mention: Justin Thomas, Corey Conners, J.J. Spaun, Keegan Bradley, Shane Lowry, Tom Hoge, Maverick McNealy, Sam Burns and Alex Smalley.
