  • The 2023 British Open will be played at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake.
  • 2023 British Open dates: July 20-23.
  • Cameron Smith is the defending champion.

The British Open is the oldest golf tournament in the world. It was first played in 1860 in Scotland and since has been hosted by some of the world’s best and most historic golf courses.

This tournament is known for rainy, windy conditions, which makes it one of the best golf betting weeks of the year. Of course, virtually all of the top players when it comes to PGA Power Rankings are usually in the field.

For the last several years, it’s been the fourth and final major on the golf calendar.

How To Bet on the 2023 British Open

Reading golf odds and betting on the 2023 British Open is similar to any other tournament. Typically, one of the best players in the field will win, but there is always the chance for a long shot given the potential for rainy and windy conditions.

The Open Championship is also great for live golf betting. Players can go low in virtually any round, so the opportunity for a player to come from behind always exists. This is an excellent way to bet on the live outright market.

There are also plenty of opportunities within the tournament, including betting on whether or not a player will birdie their next hole. This is great when watching live on your television at home or at a bar.

And don’t forget matchups. There are plenty of head-to-head matchups to choose from, whether for the tournament as a whole, or specific rounds.

British Open Odds 2023

As of Nov. 10, Rory McIlroy has the best golf odds to win the 2023 Open Championship at +1000. Jon Rahm and Scottie Scheffler are next at +1200.

McIlroy nearly won at St. Andrews a year ago, but Cameron Smith overtook him on Sunday thanks to a final-round 64.
