The FedEx Cup Playoffs began with the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee.

The top 70 players in the season-long FedEx Cup standings qualified, and the top 50 have moved on to the BMW Championship.

In a wild back nine in the final round, Hideki Matsuyama won by two shots. This came after he lost a five-shot lead going into the day on the 15th hole.

Matsuyama birdied 17 and 18 to regain his lead and ultimately win.

It had a $20 million purse.
