The Sentry 2025: $20 Million Purse, Winner’s Payout & Prize Money Earnings

The first event on the 2025 PGA Tour calendar was The Sentry, Jan. 2-5 in Kapalua, Hawaii.

It was a signature event on the PGA Tour, meaning 700 FedEx Cup points were on the line, along with an increased prize purse. The field included PGA Tour winners from the previous calendar year and the top 50 members from the 2022-24 FedExCup standings.

The Plantation Course historically yields plenty of birdies, which was the case again this year.

Hideki Matsuyama set a PGA Tour scoring record for a 72-hole event, finishing at 35-under, three shots better than Collin Morikawa.

Matsuyama shot 65 three of the four days and then shot a 62 on Saturday.

The tournament had a $20 million purse.

Hideki Matsuyama’s winner’s share for The Sentry in 2025 was $3.6 million. All players inside the top 10 took home at least $500,000.
