Although it wasn’t a PGA Tour signature event, many top players were in the field, including Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Max Homa and Collin Morikawa.
In what turned into a thrilling finish, Akshay Bhatia beat Denny McCarthy in a playoff for his second career PGA Tour win.
Bhatia led by four shots going into the round and six shots going into the back-9, but McCarthy shot a 63 to force the playoff. On the first playoff hole, McCarthy hit his third shot into a penalty area.
The event had a purse of $9.2 million.
