Following a PGA Tour signature event in the RBC Heritage, this was a unique week with the Zurich Classic in New Orleans.
It’s the lone team event on the PGA Tour schedule, with each pairing playing a best-ball Thursday and alternate shot Friday before the field got cut to the top 33 teams and ties for the weekend. Saturday was a best-ball, and Sunday was alternate shot.
There were some solid teams in the field, including Patrick Cantlay-Xander Schauffele, Shane Lowry-Rory McIlroy and Will Zalatoris/Sahith Theegala.
In an exciting finish, Lowry/McIlroy beat Chad Ramey and Martin Trainer on the first playoff hole to win. The team finished at 25-under.
The purse was $8.9 million.
