Following two designated events, this week will be unique on the PGA Tour with the Zurich Classic.

It’s the only team event on the PGA Tour schedule, and many top players are in the field.

The team of Patrick Cantlay-Xander Schauffele are the defending champions and were the favorites to win again going into the event.

The tournament has a purse of $8.6 million.

The Zurich Classic is on Golf Channel exclusively Thursday-Friday and then Golf Channel and CBS Saturday and Sunday.

Zurich Classic Format

This week is the lone team event on the PGA Tour schedule.

The 80 pairings of players will play a best-ball Thursday and alternate shot Friday before the field is cut to the top 33 teams and ties for the weekend.

Saturday will be a best-ball and Sunday will be alternate shot.

It was a regular event on Tour until 2017.
