The trophy itself is a silver cast of a normal football, sitting atop a pyramid-shaped base.
The Lombardi trophy isn’t the only major sports trophy made of sterling silver, either. The Commissioner’s Trophy — the prize for whichever team wins the World Series every year — is also made from the precious metal.
