  • Arsenal is a -1.5 goal favorite against Lens.
  • On Matchday 2, Lens captured a 2-1 win as home underdogs.
  • Arsenal can win Group B with a win on Wednesday.

Before Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League fixture, I’m set to provide an Arsenal vs. Lens prediction.

Back on Matchday 2, Lens produced one of the shock upsets of the tournament, winning 2-1 at home.

However, Arsenal have stepped up their form since then by winning two straight Champions League contests. By doing so, they sit atop Group B on nine points.

As for Lens, they’ve accumulated only one point in their previous two matches.

Here’s how the Champions League odds shape up for the meeting at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal vs. Lens Odds

  • Arsenal to Win: -300
  • Lens to Win: +800
  • Arsenal vs. Lens Draw: +450
  • The Arsenal vs. Lens Over/Under is 2.5 Goals

Arsenal vs. Lens Prediction

Based on recent trends, the prediction for Arsenal vs. Lens is the Arsenal First Half Moneyline (-135)

My prediction is based on up-to-date player injuries for both teams, expected goal trends and recent player performances.

Based on correlative markets, this line should be way higher.

Hosts Arsenal are only -135 to win the half, but over 0.5 goals in the opening 45 minutes is -350. Further, both teams to score – “no” is -600.

The latter two prices suggest to me that Arsenal should be much higher to win the first half.

Setting that aside, this Arsenal team has excelled at home in their first two Champions League games.

They’ve won the first half on both occasions, including a 3-0 halftime advantage over PSV Eindhoven on Matchday 1.

Regarding their underlying metrics, the results are further encouraging.

In matches against Sevilla and PSV, bettors will find Arsenal owns a +2.22 expected goal differential, per fotmob.com.

Their defense has also excelled, limiting both teams to a combined 0.43 expected goals.

Plus, it’s a nice revenge spot for manager Mikel Arteta’s side.

Although they lost the reverse fixture 2-1 in France, they won the expected goals battle 1.51 to 0.74.

Expect the hosts to carry some of their momentum from a late weekend win at Brentford. Back them to win the first half at -150 or better.
