There are a million different reasons to love college football, but one of the top ones has got to be the schedule.
Unlike the NFL, whose schedule is serialized for maximum predictability, the number of random weeknight games in college football is bonkers. By the time October rolls around, random Sun Belt, MAC, FCS, and even P5 games are sprinkled throughout the week, Tuesday through Friday.
The positives of this are obvious. College football is pretty much always on TV, every night, for months on end.
The downside – if you want to call it that – is that fans are constantly wondering: Is there football on tonight?
Which College Football Teams Are Playing Tonight?
Yes, there are college football games scheduled for tonight, Sept. 28:
- Temple at Tulsa (-3.5)
- Middle Tennessee at Western Kentucky (-6.5)
- Jacksonville State at Sam Houston (+6.5)
College Football Schedule
If you’re looking ahead, there are four more college football games on the night of Friday, Sept. 29:
- No. 10 Utah at No. 19 Oregon State (-3.5)
- Cincinnati at BYU (+1.5)
- Louisville at NC State (+3.5)
- Louisiana Tech at UTEP (pk)
NFL Thursday Night Football
For those who want to hit the full weeknight cohort, then there’s also the small matter of NFL Thursday Night Football. This week, that’s Lions at Packers (+1.5).
