As is the case with many SEC teams, Kentucky will be a hefty favorite in September against the G5 opponents on its schedule.

For the Wildcats, those non-power opponents begin in Week 1, when the Wildcats take on Ball State.

If you’re considering a bet on Kentucky, you’ll need to lay a hefty number of points to buy the position.

Kentucky vs. Ball State Prediction

Thanks to the strength of Kentucky’s offensive line, I am predicting that Kentucky will cover its large 26.5-point spread against Ball State in Week 1.

Kentucky has won 16 straight non-conference regular-season games, posting an 11-5 ATS record.

Dating back to 1998, Ball State is 4-7 ATS (0-11 outright) against current SEC teams.

Kentucky vs. Ball State Odds

  • Spread: Kentucky -26.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Kentucky -5000  |  Ball State +1350
  • Over/Under Total: 48.5

Looking more broadly beyond Week 1, Kentucky’s soft non-conference schedule is a key reason I placed a bet on Kentucky football’s over/under win total for 2023.
