  • Miami vs. Cal kicks off at 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
  • Miami is 5-0 to the over this year, while Cal is 4-0 to the under.

The College GameDay schedule features California this week, as Cal prepares to host its first ACC conference game in program history.ย

For the fifth week in a row, BetMGMโ€™s college football odds market prices Miami as a double-digit favorite.ย

Miami vs. Cal Odds

  • Point Spread: Miami -10.5
  • Moneyline: Miami -400ย  |ย  Cal +325
  • Over/Under: 54.5

Miami vs. Cal Preview

This is a difficult game to handicap because Cal has such an unusual collection of results. A road win at Auburn; a road loss to Florida State, when the Seminoles seemingly couldnโ€™t do anything right. Slow starts against UC Davis and San Diego State.

Miami has shown a much more cohesive identity, scoring at least 40 in consecutive big wins against Florida, Florida A&M, Ball State, and South Florida.ย

While last weekโ€™s Friday night scare against Virginia Tech may raise some cause for concern, I ultimately think itโ€™s more of a blip than a trend in Miamiโ€™s overall market consideration.ย

From a totals perspective, this game is a total guess. Miami has covered nothing but overs this season, while Cal has covered nothing but unders.ย

Miami vs. Cal Prediction

I am predicting a Miami win and cover in its game against Cal. Specifically, I am targeting the Miami 1H spread of -6.5, as Cal has shown a tendency to start slow this year.

After a near-miss against Virginia Tech, I expect the Hurricanes โ€“ who had previously been a strong cover team against some pretty large numbers โ€“ can conquer Calโ€™s marginal home-field advantage and win by margin.ย

Miami vs. Cal Pick: Miami -10.5; Miami 1H -6.5
