With each passing year, FBS college football becomes a more financially lucrative business. Every year, one or two new schools announce their move to the Football Bowl Subdivision.

When youโ€™re cruising through next seasonโ€™s college football odds, donโ€™t be surprised if you see a few new names you donโ€™t quite recognize.

Which State Has the Most College Football Teams?

Texas now has 13 FBS college football teams, which is (unsurprisingly) more than any other state.ย 

Sam Houston announced its move up from the FCS level in 2021, becoming the 13th FBS program in the state.
