  • Get expert MLB playoff betting predictions for the Guardians vs. Yankees ALCS matchup.
  • The Yankees are -120 favorites to win Saturdayโ€™s Game 5.
  • New York is -2000 to advance to the World Series.

The New York Yankees are one win away from their first World Series berth since 2009 after their 8-6 victory over the Cleveland Guardians in Fridayโ€™s Game 4.

New York scored two runs in the ninth off All-Star closer Emmanuel Clase. Giancarlo Stanton, Juan Soto, and Austin Wells all hit a home run for the Yankees in the win.

The Guardians won two in a row when facing elimination in the ALDS against the Detroit Tigers, but they will need three consecutive victories to win the ALCS.

Here is a look at the latest MLB postseason odds for Guardians vs. Yankees and my best bet ahead of Game 5:

  • Yankees Moneyline: -120
  • Over/Under: 7.5 (+100/-120)

Guardians vs. Yankees ALCS Prediction, Game 5 Best Bet

  • Best bet: Yankees Over 3.5 Runs (-130)

Based on the latest baseball playoff odds, my best bet for Game 5 of the ALCS is over 3.5 runs (-130) for the Yankees due to their recent offensive rhythm against a taxed Cleveland bullpen.

I project a slight edge on the full-game total of 7.5, especially at +100 or better. I also expect the Yankees to win as short favorites. However, betting on New York’s lineup is my most significant edge for this matchup.

The Yankees have scored five or more runs in all four games of this series thus far. They have averaged six runs per contest.

Saturdayโ€™s Game 5 marks the third game in as many days for both teams, meaning bullpens should be exhausted. Cleveland has used seven relievers in each of the last two days, including consecutive outings from Clase.

Ballpark Palโ€™s model projects 4.41 runs for the Yankees, so Iโ€™m comfortable betting this over at -135 or better.
