After an underwhelming 2023 campaign, the San Diego Padres could return to the 2024 MLB playoff picture.

Padres Playoff Chances

The Padres playoff odds are -130, which implies a 56.52% chance of making the postseason.

Their playoff odds are the second-best in the NL West:

  • Dodgers: Off the board
  • Padres: -130
  • Diamondbacks: +260
  • Giants: +260
  • Rockies: Off the board

Padres Playoff Seed

If the postseason began today, the Padres would be the No. 6 seed in the National League. They’re 8.5 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers for the division lead in the NL West, but are very much in the mix for a Wild Card spot.

As the No. 6 seed, San Diego would travel to face the Milwaukee Brewers in a best-of-three Wild Card Series.

Here’s the current NL bracket:

Last Time the Padres Made the Playoffs

The Padres reached the postseason as recently as 2022, advancing to the NLCS before suffering a 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

San Diego hasn’t made it to the World Series since a 4-0 loss to the New York Yankees in 1998.
