  • The Thunder are -130 favorites to win the Northwest Division.
  • Oklahoma City won this division in 2023-24.

The Northwest Division should be one of the more competitive divisions in the NBA this year after three teams were in the mix until the end of last season.

The Oklahoma City Thunder ultimately won their first division crown since 2015-16, besting the Denver Nuggets via a tiebreaker. The Minnesota Timberwolves finished one game behind both teams.

Who will win this division in 2024-25? Hereโ€™s a look at the latest NBA betting lines and my best bet for the Northwest Division:

Northwest Division Winner Odds 2024-25

  • Oklahoma City Thunder -130
  • Minnesota Timberwolves +250
  • Denver Nuggets +325
  • Utah Jazz +30000
  • Portland Trail Blazers +30000

Northwest Division Betting Prediction

Prediction: Thunder/Timberwolves Dual Forecast (+160)

Note: This line has moved to -130 and is no longer a valuable bet.

I recommend playing the dual forecast in the Northwest Division market, especially if you are willing to fade one of the top three teams.

In this case, Iโ€™m fading the Nuggets because they are the only team with nothing to play for in the regular season.

Denver pushed for the No. 1 seed last year, ultimately costing this team a chance at repeating as NBA champions. The Nuggets collapsed in Game 7 of the Western Conference semifinals.

The Nuggets, older than the Thunder and Timberwolves, will not make the same mistake again. Thatโ€™s why their under is one of my favorite NBA win total predictions this season.

Itโ€™s also possible that Oklahoma City and Minnesota are just better, particularly in the regular season.ย

The Thunder were the best team in the West last season, while the Timberwolves led the league in defensive rating on their way to claiming the No. 3 seed.ย

And that might only be the beginning for both of these teams.
