As the reigning NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets have some of the best NBA odds for the 2023-24 season.
But that was not the case many years ago when Jalen Rose was drafted by the team No. 13 overall in the 1996 NBA Draft.
Although the 2022-23 season was their first NBA Finals appearance as a franchise, several star players have worn a Nuggets uniform.
Earlier this year, Rose, a BetMGM brand ambassador, ranked his five best Nuggets players of all time.
Top 5 Denver Nuggets Players of All Time
5. David Thompson
Thompson spent seven seasons with the Nuggets from 1975-82. In those seasons, he averaged 24.1 points per game.
“There’s a legend that he could take a quarter off the top of the backboard and leave change,” Rose said.
4. Carmelo Anthony
Although he played 19 seasons in the NBA, Anthony may most be known for his time in Denver. He was selected third overall by the team in the 2003 NBA Draft.
He averaged 24.8 points per game in his eight seasons with the Nuggets before playing for the Knicks, Trail Blazers, Thunder, Lakers and Rockets.
3. Alex English
2. Dikembe Mutombo
Mutombo played 18 seasons for six teams but got his start with the Nuggets when he was drafted fourth overall in the 1991 NBA Draft.
During his five seasons with Denver, he led the NBA in blocked shots in three of those years.
For his career, he appeared in eight All-Star games, won four Defensive Player of the Year awards and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015.
1. Nikola Jokic
Jokic led the Nuggets to their first NBA championship in the 2022-23 season. It was also their first NBA Finals appearance.
“The back-to-back MVP. The only guy to lead the team to [the NBA Finals],” Rose said.
The Nuggets drafted Jokic in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft, and he has been with the organization ever since.
