In the 2022 NCAA Tournament, MAAC champion and No. 15 seed St. Peter’s became the lowest seed to ever reach the Elite Eight.

St. Peter’s came out of nowhere, shocking No. 2 seed Kentucky – the fourth-biggest betting upset in March Madness history – No. 7 seed Murray State, and No. 3 seed Purdue en route to a historic appearance in the East regional final against North Carolina.

The Tar Heels finally put the Peacocks out to pasture, winning 69-49 and eventually advancing to the national championship game.

One year earlier, during the 2021 NCAA Tournament, No. 15 Oral Roberts had a historic run of its own. The Golden Eagles earned tight 3-point wins over both No. 2 Ohio State and No. 7 Florida, becoming just the second team ever to advance to the Sweet 16 on the No. 15 line.

No. 15 Florida Gulf Coast, in 2013, was the first.

High water marks for other NCAA Tournament seeds: No. 10 Seed | No. 11 Seed | No. 12 Seed | No. 13 Seed | No. 14 Seed | No. 16 Seed
