First round games for March Madness will be played at eight different venues:

  • Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama
  • Amway Center in Orlando, Florida
  • Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California
  • Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa
  • MVP Arena in Albany, New York
  • Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio
  • Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado
  • Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina

NCAA Tournament First Round Schedule

After Selection Sunday and the First Four in Dayton, the remaining field of 64 teams will play its first-round games in the NCAA Tournament on March 16-17, 2023. 

Those who survive the first week of games will advance to the 2023 Sweet 16.
