Iowa won the 2022 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament, their third-ever tournament title and first since 2006. The Hawkeyes, an underdog in college basketball betting, beat Michigan in March 2022.
Here’s a look at the 2023 Big Ten tournament:

Where is the 2023 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament?
The 26th edition of the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held in Chicago, Illinois, at the United Center.
The Midwest’s largest city will play host to the 14 schools and their fanbases as the teams battle to determine the conference’s tournament victor.
The Big Ten Tournament began in 1998, and the first four iterations of the event took place in the United Center. The Michigan Wolverines won the first tournament, with Robert “Tractor” Traylor taking home MVP honors.
In 2022, the Big Ten began rotating between Chicago and Indianapolis as host cities for the tournament. That remained the case until 2008, when Indianapolis became the more permanent host as five straight tournaments (2008 to 2012) were held at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. 2013 saw the return of the rotation as Chicago and Indianapolis alternated for a few years before an unfortunate decision to hold the event in Washington D.C. in 2017 and Madison Square Garden in 2018.
Poor attendance caused a move back to the Midwest in 2019, with Chicago hosting that year and Indianapolis holding the event in 2021 and 2022. The 2024 event will be held for the first time in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Michigan State Spartans hold the best record in this event, going 34-18 and winning six conference crowns in the 25 years of the event. Ohio State has four titles, while Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa have three apiece.
