Millions of college basketball fans are filling and refilling out their brackets this week, hunting for every last bit of research that could point them toward a correct national championship prediction.

Naturally, bracketology is all guesswork, and 10 different people might believe in 10 different teams. But when it comes to betting odds, there is actually a pretty clear answer on who the favorite is to win this year’s national championship.

Who Is Predicted to Win March Madness 2023?

Alabama is now the sole favorite to win March Madness, according to BetMGM’s college basketball betting odds. The Crimson Tide are currently +350; Houston is +400.

Houston, the No. 1 seed in the Midwest, was the betting favorite at the start of the tournament. However, the Cougars appear to be dealing with mounting injury concerns, which drove Alabama to the top of the table.

Kansas and Purdue, the other two No. 1 seeds, were eliminated during the first week of the tournament.

At the BetMGM online sportsbook, updated results show that a plurality of bettors now favors No. 1 Alabama to win the national championship, with 10.7% of tickets and 14.5% of the overall market handle backing the Crimson Tide.
